King’s College Schools in Madrid.

Dear Parents,

Coronavirus Update: School Closure in Madrid (From Wednesday 11th March 2020) In light of the official order from the local Authorities published on 9th March 2020 all the King’s College Schools in Madrid will be closed to students from Wednesday 11th March 2020. Our priority now is to comply with this directive but maintain the continuity of the children’s education and support for all of our students.

We have put contingency plans in place to lessen the impact on pupils´ learning and will be running classes remotely via our online platforms. Teachers will also be available via Google classroom, Class Dojo or email and will be able to respond to questions, provide support and share tutorial videos etc. Our guided online curriculum and online teaching support for all students will remain in place during the entirety of the school’s closure.

Staff will set work for pupils to do at home using the various educational platforms of the school:

  • Secondary:
    • Google classroom (Including other subject specific learning platforms such as: Doodle, Kerboodle, Pearson’s Active Learn, etc)
  • Primary:
    • Years 5 and 6 – Google Classroom
    • Years 1 to 4 – Class Dojo
    • EYFS: Tapestry and Class Dojo

This will be implemented with effect from Wednesday 11th March 2020. To reiterate, guided online learning will be provided for students of all ages for as long as the school remains closed from 09:15-16:35 hours, Monday to Friday and our priority remains to continue to support the children in their education.

Pupils are expected to engage in the work that has been set and to complete it electronically. Staff will continue to be available to pupils to help and support them via email and online communication methods (as detailed above) during normal working hours. Should you have any questions, the class teacher will be available online or contactable via e-mail. If there are any updates to these arrangements, we will of course advise you immediately. We ask for your support at this time as we all try to work together through these exceptional circumstances.

King’s College Latvia.

In light of the official order from the Latvian Government announced on 12th March 2020, our school will be closed to students from Monday, 16th of March 2020.

In light of the official order from La Comunidad Valenciana, King’s College Alicante will be closed from Monday, 16th of March 2020. We have put in place a virtual learning curriculum that will be provided individually to each student by their class teacher.

King’s Infant School Elche.

In light of the official order from La Comunidad Valenciana, King’s Infant School Elche will be closed from Monday, 16th of March 2020. We have put in place a virtual learning curriculum that will be provided individually to each student by their class teacher.

King’s College Murcia.

In light of the official order from the Local Authorities, King’s College Murcia will be closed from Monday, 16th. We have put in place a virtual learning curriculum that will be provided individually to each student by their class teacher.

King’s College Frankfurt.

In the light of the official order from the Bildungsministerium, King’s College Frankfurt will be closed from Monday, 16th of March 2020. We have put in place a virtual learning curriculum that will be provided individually to each student by their class teacher.
